SOG® Rolls Out New Line of Hunting Knives
Fixed blades and folding blades are built for days afield
Lynnwood, WA. – Building on its award-winning history of producing specialty knives and tools for a wide variety of customers, SOG Specialty Knives & Tools kicks off 2013 with a bang, launching a new line of knives built specifically for hunters.
There are 10 new knives in SOG’s hunting knives line, from fixed blades and folding blades designed for skinning and boning anything from moose to antelope to a pair of nifty folding knives perfect for turkeys, gamebirds or smaller animals.
SOG’s new line is highlighted by six models of “Huntspoint” knives, ranging in price from $80 to $140. Perfect for big-game hunters, Huntspoints are available in either a skinning or boning blades. The fixed-blade Huntspoints have options in handles, too, coming in either co-molded rubber or wood. The crown jewel of the Huntspoints is a wood-handled model with premium, made-in-the-USA S30V stainless steel.
Of just the right size to fit in a pack or vest, SOGʼs new Twitch wood-handled knives come in two hunting versions: The Twitch II ($85) or the larger Twitch XL ($120). These folding blade knives are quick and easy to open with one hand, thanks to SOG Assisted Technology thatʼs been perfected over decades in knife manufacturing. Both feature AUS-8 stainless steel blades.
There is also a new model of the “Revolver” series in SOG’s 2013 hunting line. This smaller version of SOG’s already popular rotating blade Revolver, comes with a boning blade on one end and a saw and a gut hook on the other. MSRP is $70.
The one knife in SOG’s new hunt line that promises to spark a new trend among the hunting knife market is the Bladelight Hunt. Featuring a folding blade made from AUS-8 stainless steel, the Bladelight is equipped with six green LED lights molded into the handle. Powered by standard alkaline batteries, state of the art push button switches/circuitry and an IPX-7 rating for water resistance, the Bladelight provides hunters both two levels of functionality.
