Stanley FatMax Xtreme Portable Truck Box 036800R - Tool Review
We received one of the FatMax Xtreme Truck Boxes to test and share our thoughts with you. For the first few months that we had it, I used it to store “craft services” (that’s food and napkins and stuff) that we took to video shoots. The handle makes the box really easy to move around and the box was just the right size for all of the stuff I had to take to various shooting locations. But since the box is designed to be a toolbox used by professionals in the construction industry, we decided to give it to our favorite local contractor, Dana Wilkerson to put to the real test. He often gives us his thought on tools and products that we get. Here’s what he thought:
Positives:
- The capacity and the portability was good
- Waterproof is a big plus for contractors
- It is good for keeping prying eyes on a job site (or even in store parking lots) out
- Good for drills, smaller tools
- Drilling holes in the truck bed to attach the security bar
- Security docking bar takes up substantial room in the truck bed
- The box is not laid out to work with a lot of types of tools
Here’s what Stanley says:
The box is designed to act as a security box. It has a patented system that locks the box into the docking station in the back of the truck, and can be unlocked with the electronic keypad. It has a water-resistant seal and a 42 gallon storage capacity. The wheels are heavy-duty, and are designed to easily navigate jobsite obstacles. There is removable vertical storage for added organization.
