When the Ryobi Tek4 Utility Light (RP4410) first arrived for review, I wasn’t sure it was all that and a bag of chips… I mean it was cute and all, but it was a little light no bigger than my hand.  I should have known that good things come in small packages!  This little light of Ryobi's not only shines, but packs a powerful punch!

So, let me tell you what’s so special about it.  First of all, I’ve really come to respect the Ryobi Tek4 line of tools.  They are solid in construction, and the majority of them are impact, dust, and water resistant which means you don’t have to worry about putting them to work in your shop, on the job site, or even on video shoots in the rain!  (I’ve used mine in the rain, at night in the dew, and will use it on a video shoot this weekend in freezing temperatures).

Next, I love the magnet on the back.

It makes it so simple to use the lights in a variety of places.  You can use it with metal studs, attach it to the inside of your tool box, use it under a tool cabinet to light up your work bench, and on and on.  The possibilities are pretty much endless…

“BUT”, you say, “what if I am working with wood”?  Well the flat base on the bottom makes it very easy to set down on any surface.

And… it gets better, there’s a knob on the light that rotates the light 120 degrees, so you can aim the light just about anywhere you want it.   Ryobi’s fancy name for it is “Adjustable Angle Light Bar”.  I’ll never remember that, but since it’s easy to position, that’s all I need to know.

Plus, the big button on the front that turns it on, also switches the light settings from high to low.  So you have plenty of choices of how to use this very functional LED work light.

Here are a few other things Ryobi say about the light:

• Rechargeable / Powered by a 4-volt lithium-ion battery (not included)
• 16-hour run time per charge
• 6 LED bulbs last the life of the product

In my personal experience, these batteries last a long time.  While I have not run this one 16 hours straight.  I have been running it periodically for weeks and have not had to charge the battery yet.  But the beauty of the Tek4 system, is to keep several batteries on stand-by and be ready to go.  Once charged, they can sit in your tool bag or in a drawer for weeks without losing their charge!

The Ryobi Tek4LED Utility Light (RP4410) comes with the light, a metal mounting plate, and two screws (oh and the manual that everyone loses). It doesn't come with a battery or charger, but as I said above, you should have those already anyway!

I’m a cheapskate, so I often end a review by saying that my one complaint is that the item be cheaper, but in this case, I’m not sure how you can argue with under $15 (at the time of this post).  All in all, I give the Ryobi Tek4 LED Utility Light (RP4410) two thumbs up!
