DeWalt DCF885C2 20v Max 1/4" Impact Driver - Tool Review
Impact Driver Musings
There was a time I thought that impact drivers were simply a craze that would pass. I'll admit publicly - right here on this page - I was wrong. These drivers have had a huge (wait for it)...impact on the tool industry, accounting for a huge chunk of their sales figures.I remember my first impact tool - it was a manual version that was struck with a hammer to apply torque and pressure on the head of a frozen fastener. For some reason, I was always amazed when it worked. It's nice not to have to break out the hammer every time a fastener needs to be driven home or broken free. The cordless versions of these tools have saved many a thumb and forefinger from being bruised or blood-blistered (anyone who ever used the old manual version will understand.)
