Coast HP7R Rechargeable Flashlight

The Coast booth at the National Hardware Show was full of more great gear and some very cool rechargeable flashlights. The HP7R and HP5R, it’s younger sibling, have multiple charging options the legendary Coast bright-as-the-sun beam. OK, that’s a slight exaggeration, but their LED beams are pretty incredible. If you’ve never used or seen one, check them out the next time you have the opportunity.

The HP7R is a nice, stocky LED light. Nice weight and it has a lanyard attachment point, as well.

The HP7R beam can be tightly focused.

The 201 lumen output is b r i g h t, especially at close proximity!

The micro USB charging port is actually built into the battery and accessed by sliding the rear of the light open.

In addition to the rechargeable option, the HP7R can be run with 3 AAA batteries and the HP5R can be run with 1 AA battery.

  • 181 Lumen output
  • 3 hr 30 min runtime
  • Includes car mount, speed clip and heavy-duty sheath
  • Length – 4.625 inches

The HP5R, although somewhat smaller than its older brother, is still an intense carry flashlight.

Both flashlights were impressive in their output, weight and balance – as you’d expect from Coast.
