MEDINA, MN (July 11, 2013) - Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced four new musical instrument kits that allow do-it-yourselfers to build and custom finish their own Double Neck Electric Guitar, Mandolin, Lap Steel Slide Guitar, or Violin. The kits are comprised of unfinished wood components as well as all necessary hardware to create a musical instrument. Assembly of the instruments is designed to be quick and simple, with unlimited possibilities for customizing the finish.
"In addition to producing beautiful sound, these instruments allow one-of-a-kind finishes and customization," says Scott Ekman, Rockler's Vice President of Marketing. "Some of the finished products I have seen are jaw-dropping works of art."The unfinished musical instrument pieces are made from wood selections which are standard in high quality musical instrument construction such as maple, spruce, basswood, and rosewood. The finished instruments are intended to mirror features of popular models on the market, such as the six- and twelve-string double neck guitar, Kentucky-style F-hole mandolin, slim and sleek lap steel slide guitar, and classic violin. The Double Neck Guitar Kit (47594) retails for $329.99, the F-Style Acoustic Mandolin Kit (47462) for $179.99, the Electric Lap Steel Slide Guitar Kit (45580) for $129.99, and the Violin Kit (47954) for $119.99.
