Rockler Bench Cookie Bridge Review
This could be a painter's best friend, and as someone who's been a professional painter for the better part of a few decades, I should know. On a recent project, I got to use the little plastic wonders while I was painting the fascia board for an old guest house. As with every job, I like to finish as soon as I can, while still doing the best job possible - these "bridges" helped me do just that.

Here are the top 3 things I like about the little plastic caps that fit snugly over the top of the Bench Cookies.
1) Minimal Surface Contact - Because the top edge of the Bridge is about the width of a dime, there is very little surface contact with the piece being finished. That means I can paint or stain both sides of whatever I'm working on in a shorter period of time. In the case of the fascia boards, I just dabbed a little paint on the tiny marks after I put them up. You couldn't tell there was ever a mark on them once installed.
2) Non-Skid Surface - I've worked with other little devices that keep my project pieces elevated for painting or staining, but they tend to slip around. I've even gone so far as to put tape on the bottom of some of them to keep them in place. Because the Bridges fit on top of the Bench Cookies, they don't slip, because the cookies have the non-skid surface. The board stays right where I want it.
3) Great For Trim - The Bridges are about 2 inches wide, so they make a great support for small pieces of molding or trim. And since staining or painting trim can get monotonous real fast, I like that these help me get the job done more quickly.
Bench Cookie Bridge Opinion
The Bridges sell for around $6 for a pack of 4, so they're not expensive. If you own more than one set of Bench Cookies and do a lot of paint work like I do, it's not a bad idea to get a few sets, just in case one breaks. They're made of a sturdy plastic and don't feel flimsy in any way but over time, everything breaks, so I'm just being realistic. I'd recommend these accessories to a friend, especially because of the low price and the convenience factor.
