Stanley TWINTEC Wrench | First Look

Stanley TWINTEC Wrench

At the recent Stanley Black & Decker Media Preview in New York, Stanley introduced a new gadget wrench called TWINTEC. Sorry, didn’t mean to shout, but that’s how they spell it. According to Tom Chang with Stanley Black & Decker, the TWINTEC combines 27 tools into 1. That’s pretty exciting, right? Well, take a look at our video preview and decide for yourself.

The Twintec wrench has a nice design and a substantial feel to it.

Stanley TWINTEC Features

The wrench is double-ended with ratcheting knobs at each end. By twisting the knobs, the jaws of the tool open and close, allowing it to fit a wide variety of fasteners.

Knobs at each end of the Twintec turn both clockwise and counterclockwise.

The jaws of the Twintec are opened and closed by twisting the above-mentioned knobs.

There’s also a reversing lever under each knob for clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation of the ratcheting handle.

The Twintec seemed to work as advertised in the demonstration.

Stanley TWINTEC Opinion

We like the design, and the wrench has a solid feel. It seemed to work well in the demonstrations. We’ll let you know how it holds up when we get our paws on one, as soon as they’re released. That’s expected to be sometime in the 4th quarter of 2013.
